Frequently Asked Questions

How do I set up an Appointment? 

*You can set up an appointment by calling 814-708-4696. If your call is not answered, please leave a message and your call will be returned by the end of the day. 

​What types of things do you treat? 

*The majority of the people I treat are dealing with anxiety, marriage/relationship concerns, parenting issues, or adjustment to transitions in life. However, I have experience in treating a wide variety of concerns. If you have a specific question about an issue or concern, please feel free to call the office. 

What insurances do you accept? 

 *Currently I accept most major medical insurances such as:  Highmark BlueCross Blue Shield, UPMC , Magellan, Aetna,  Optum, United Health Care, Medicaid. 

What if you do not accept my insurance? 

*I would be happy to file a claim with your insurance to see if they will accept an out of network provider. I am also willing to provide you with documentation to submit a claim on your own. You would however, be responsible for payment in the event your insurance company denies said claim. 

Can I see you if I have no insurance? 

*Yes, I am happy to discuss a reasonable fee for service. I do offer a sliding scale if necessary. Cash, check and credit cards are accepted.

Can I see you if I am not "religious" and do not wish to have faith based counseling? 

*Absolutely, regardless of your interest in spirituality and faith I will respect and be sensitive your personal beliefs.

Must I do EMDR therapy to be seen at this practice? 

*No, other modalities are often utilized. You always have a say in treatment, what you want to try and what you do not. 

How quickly can I be seen? 

*This fluctuates depending on case load.  Usually, you can be scheduled within a few weeks and placed on a cancellation list for a sooner appointment if one were to open. 

Do you have evening hours? 

*Yes, I currently offer evening hours on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Please note the last appointment is taken no later than 6:30pm.  

Do you prescribe medication? 

*No, as a Licensed Professional Counselor I do not prescribe medication. I can give you referrals to a psychiatrist or primary care physician if medication is an option in which you are interested. 

Do you provide assessments for work places or psychological testing? 

*No, I do not provide those types of assessments. Assessments used in the counseling process serve a different purpose.
